July Coterie Customer Spotlight
Jenna is a creative, ambitious 7 year old who can come off as shy, but definitely has some spunk. She has always been eager to learn. Randomly one day she approached her mom with a desire to learn to sew. She and her mom were aware of Sarah, who teaches at the elementary school in Carey, Idaho. They knew of her love for all things fabric. She loves seeking out whimsicle textiles from all over the globe!
Sarah comes by teaching honestly. She is truly passionate about her proffesion and loves to see others succeed. She is also an avid quilter. What more could you ask for when looking to add to your skill set?!
As the process began, Sarah created a mini sewing station that was just Jenna’s size. They then began meeting weekly to work on her quilt and to learn a new skill.
Jenna chose all of her fabrics and their placement within the quilt, but for safety purposes Sarah was able to do all of the cutting and ironing. Once they were finished with her quilt top, it was time for Jenna to choose a design. She looked through each category on my website and jotted down her favorites.
You can see that this was not an easy task! But she was very happy with her decision! It’s in her own handwriting, I LOVE that!
I am so honored to be just a small part of this story. Sarah was the PERFECT person to introduce Jenna to the happiness and joy that quilting can be in someone’s life. I started quilting later in my life and I admit, I am a bit jealous that Jenna has such a head start! If this becomes a true passion of hers, she will do big things in the quilt world!
Thank you Sarah and Jenna for allowing me to share this with others! I hope that one person reading this has the desire to include their young (or older) children in the quilting process! It is a great skill to have! +Jill
